Sedimentation velocity

Sedimentation velocity refers to one type of experiment performed on the ultracentrifuge. In these experiments, the centrifugal field is set relatively high for the size of the molecule, and a moving concentration boundary is recorded at different times during the experiment. Analysis of the position of the boundary over time yields the sedimentation coefficient s. s depends on the weight and shape of a molecule.

The Sednterp program requires the weight of the solute and s for various shape estimates and analyses in the results section.
